Let's make sure we get the most out of this session!
Here are some suggestions that go a long way:
Pinterest / Mood Board:
Before the shoot, send over examples of photos you resonate with. Whether it's a Pinterest board, mood board, or just screenshots, this helps us both get on the same page regarding the vibe and look you want. It also gives us inspiration for different poses to try during the session. (See example.)
Bonus: Practice posing before the session to feel more confident in front of the camera!
Outfits & Options:
Choose outfits that reflect your personality while keeping the focus on your face. Avoid loud patterns, overly bright colors, and logos. Before the shoot, try everything on and make sure you’re happy with your choices.
Having options is key! This allows us to play around and be creative. I recommend bringing 3-4 outfits, such as:
- White t-shirt or tank
- Black t-shirt or tank
- Blazers
- A fun blouse or top
- Jeans or black pants
- Something bold and unique that truly reflects you
I have a steamer, but I always recommend that your clothes are pressed and ready to go to avoid using up shoot time!
Bonus: Take photos of yourself in the outfits to see how they look on camera.
Hydration & Self-Care:
To ensure your skin looks its best, stay hydrated and well-rested before the shoot. Drink plenty of water and get enough sleep. And don’t forget the chapstick!
Grooming:
If you're doing your own hair, practice beforehand. I suggest arriving with clean, styled hair and bringing your hair products for any touch-ups.
Hiring a Makeup Artist:
I highly recommend hiring a professional makeup artist, and I can send over recommendations. If you choose to do your own makeup, focus on highlighting your natural beauty. Be sure to bring your makeup products for any necessary touch-ups during the shoot.
And most importantly, let’s have fun, laugh, and capture amazing shots of you! I’m so excited to have you in the studio!
